The two main characters of this drama are Kashaf Murtaza and Zaroon Junaid. The setting of this drama is Karachi. Kashaf is one of three sisters who lives with their mother in North Nazimbad. She comes from a lower middle class family. Kashaf mother's name is Rafia (Samina Peerzada) and father's name is Murtaza ( Waseem Abbas). Kashaf has two sister their name are Sidra (Mansha Pasha) Shehneela (Sana Sarafaraz). Kashaf father abandoned his family because Rafia could not give birth to a son. He wanted a son. But God gave him three daughter instead. His second wife gave birth to a son. So he was happy. His father does not support his first wife with anything. Rafia is hard working person. Kashaf mother works as a teacher and pulls her worth and weight to make ends to meet. The first person to go to university is Kashaf because she is the oldest. Kashaf two sister stay at home to tutor children. Kashaf was on top of list for admissions to Indus Valley University in Karachi Sindh. Kashaf is very bitter person because of her family situation.
On the other side of the city there was a guy name Zaroon. Zaroon comes from upper class family. His father and mother are educated. He is enrolled in the same university that Kashaf goes. He is a brillant student. He gets great marks in every class. His father name is Junaid who is a business man and his mother name is Ghazala who works in NGO. He also has sister name Sara. Sara is a independent girl. . She is just like his mother. His parents are very liberal. His father's brother is a professor in Indus Valley University.
